Stand design at EXPODENTAL 2018

The great professional meeting of the dental sector held the largest of its calls. Technology and digitization were absolute protagonists in an edition in which exhibitors and visitors showed great satisfaction.

The guests at the last working breakfast organized by Gaceta Dental already announced it: “we are facing the best Expodental in history”. Perspectives of important referents of the Spanish dental industry that became a reality after the official data provided by the organizers of the fifteenth edition of the International Exhibition of Dental Equipment, Products and Services.

Technological advances are the protagonists in Expodental

For three days, it brought together the proposals of 358 exhibitors, 412 companies and 1,458 brands. All this in an innovative presentation scenario aligned with future trends in the dental industry.

Expodental has also exceeded all expectations when it comes to professional assistance. It has grown by 2.6% with the presence of 31,144 professionals.

In this sense, it should be noted that visitors have been received from all the Spanish Autonomous Communities and from abroad. In fact, 60% of the professionals have been from outside Madrid, with a greater presence from Andalusia, Catalonia and Valencia. The visit from the Canary Islands, the Autonomous Community invited in this edition, has also been especially noteworthy.

In this case, the greatest presence has once again corresponded to visitors from Portugal, along with Italy, which grew by more than 19%, and France, with an increase of 4.6%.

By segments, the most numerous professional profile has been that of dentists. They are followed by prosthesists, dental hygienists, clinical assistants, and orthodontists.

The Expodental Speakers’Corner and the Training Forum brought together 2,264 attendees, in the set of informative sessions, product presentations and round tables.

In addition, during the Student’s Day, which was held last Thursday, March 15, the fair was visited by 4,028 future professionals in the sector. They were able to see first-hand the latest technological developments in the industry. Also, access the current academic offer in reference to postgraduate programs and studies, specialties, continuing education.

A stand design at EXPODENTAL, technological showcase

Under the slogan “Innovation, Technology and Digital Future”, organized by Ifema, Expodental once again became one of the major international benchmarks in a highly technological industry where the latest advances in dental equipment could be seen. As well as the services of a sector that is committed to a future in which digitization will take center stage.

Increasing digitization

In this edition, Expodental put its focus on the digitization of processes; in the important advances in Implantology, thanks to the incorporation of innovative technologies, materials, and solutions to improve osseointegration; innovations in resistant structures to optimize bone regeneration, or the latest in endodontic, orthodontic and aesthetic treatments, among other proposals. In addition, CAD-CAM technology had an important role in this edition, as part of the tools that have entered strongly in this field in which they favor greater precision and better design in dentistry treatments, reducing time and costs for the patient. and opening the way to new opportunities in the Implantology of the future.

The three days of Expodental 2018 were a hive of people touring the exhibition area.

In this sense and as part of the event’s great commitment to digitization, the company Nemotec offered an extensive program of workshops, led by renowned professionals, among which the one given by Dr. Antonio Bowen entitled “3D Digital Flow and integration of the facial scanner in Implantology” or “The application of new technologies in Dentistry Universities: Challenges and trends”, by Dr. Guillermo Pradíes, among others.

For his part, Henry Schein held a meeting with the press in which he made a brief presentation on the current development of the Spanish dental market, in addition to all the news about the products and services currently offered by his group. One of its star presentations was that of Henry Schein Education, where the company is committed to taking another step in the digital transformation of the sector by adding online training to its portfolio of services. Henry Schein also presented the “#scheinchats”, an exclusive series of live talks with industry and sector leaders, as well as its innovations in management software.
